Top Station

It’s a perfect destination of panoramic view of Western Ghats and is situated with three mountain streams – Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. Top Station derives its name from the highest railway station here that is in Kundala Valley. The place also has a historical connection. In olden times, it was transhipment point from where tea was delivered to Madupatty and Munnar, by train, and later was dropped down to Kottagudi, by rope. Visitors can  enjoy lovely views from here, mainly between April and May. The location is famous for the Neelakurinji flowers (Strobilanthus), which used to bloom once in every twelve years. The bloom of these rare flowers will give the location a different pleasant look. The next flowering season of Neelakurinji is on 2018.
